Do you like ads?
February 29, 2008 at 8:21 pm | In Posts | 5 CommentsWe receive more than 5,000 advertising messages per day. Some are really good. They make us express our emotions: smile or laugh, feel sympathy etc. Some even irritates us. And that is good for companies. They reach us, their audience! But there’s another category “we don’t remember”. And it is a real fail!
I usually don’t connect ads to the product! I just watch or look at them! Like a piece of art. For me advertising is an art. Arguably? Maybe. But it’s definitely part of our new culture.
And I have some in my list of favourites. Like movies or books. Don’t you?
MyMiniCity
February 24, 2008 at 6:46 pm | In Posts | 1 CommentThat is not connected with PR. Or maybe it is?
My friend gave me a link to the website. She has made her own city and I decided why not to create a city with my own name. I don’t have such chance in a real world so I can do it in virtual. This virtual world has already 50 864 334 inhabitants in 1 238 563 cities in 89 days! Marvelous numbers! And I’ve never heard about this website before my friend told me about it 10 minutes ago!
Does Word-Of-Mouth rule the world?
books VS future
February 21, 2008 at 11:21 pm | In Posts | 7 CommentsThere’s lots of talk nowadays about future of the books. Of course real books have something that no electronic device can give us at the moment. It is the feeling of page turning, the visual look of book cover and even smell of paper. But e-books have lots of advantages as well. Easy access, don’t need any space and price of course.
As for me I LOVE real books. I never read books online. Ok, I do read articles. But that’s a little bit different. And I find dangerous for books such things as book reader devices. Amazon Kindle i.e. Well… probably now it hasn’t conquered the world. But in the future? Will we live to see the world without books? Or can new technology and old-fashioned books live in peace?
Web 2.0 What is it?
February 13, 2008 at 8:51 pm | In Posts | 4 CommentsFor the first time I’ve heard about Web 2.0 only two weeks ago on the PR and New Media lecture. Can I say that I missed something in my life? And what is interesting – I’m not the only one who is unfamiliar with it. On the Russian website about PR I’ve found a poll “Web 2.0 is…” And 40% of the respondents answered that they have heard about it for the first time.
I decided to make mini-research on this topic. There’s loads of information in the web. What I found out is that Web 2.0 is about interaction what was impossible in Web 1.0. I understand that Google, Wikipedia, blogging is all about it. But I can’t find clear definition of Web 2.0. As I can see even creators can’t exactly tell what Web 2.0 is. So does this definition exist? Or maybe there is no need in it?
So what is Web 2.0 for you?
Let’s start
February 9, 2008 at 4:27 pm | In Posts | 7 CommentsHello everyone!
This is My First Blog. Actually I have not been planning to do anything like that in the nearest future. This is part of my PR and New Media course. And I hope I’ll be successful and find my place in this community.
For me this task is a challenge. I’m not good at writing so it is time to study. But I feel really nervous. One thing is to write to your friends on the Vkontakte (Russian “brother” of Facebook) and the other thing is to express your thoughts openly especially in the foreign language. I will try to find something interesting to say and do it in my own style.
We’ll see…
