Ha-ha-ha thanx Rita I enjoyed it)))
Unfortunately, one of the main characteristics of Russian mentality is need of strong monarchical management. As a result we see the lack of independent thinking and it seems to me that there is no civic society in Russia as far as concerns traditional comprehension of this term.

Brilliant video. First I thought 'Russian bear' would be what I remembered from this. Then the punchline really got me - another clever viral for the Obama campaign. Yes they can pronounce Medvedev. (NB: you can't spell Hillary...)

I think that they vote for him simply because he is associated with Mr.Putin. People trust him and, probably, believe that de jure president is Medvedev, but de facto - Putin will continue his reign.

That's why I'm saying that 70% of votes is not for Medvedev, but for Putin's successor whoever he is. What is interesting is that Medvedev proposes Zyganov's programme! So people even don't listen!!! Or didn't have a chance to listen to other candidates.

70% for Medvedev is too much I think... 55-60% is ok, but 70! The majority of those I know didn't vote for him. How come so many people supported Medvedev?

I cannot follow the latest news, but as I heard such high percentage was achieved because of the regions. But why? I don't understand why people there vote for a person who did absolutely nothing to improve their lives and moreover - for the person they hardly know! When Putin was a Pime Minister he showed himself as a strong and decisive leader who is eager to solve urgent problems in Russia. His famous phrase about killing terrorists in toilets greatly impressed our people. There was a sensation that this guy will make order in Russia. But what did Medvedev? Did he become famous because he is collecting original Deep Purple on vinil?

I really hope that you are right! But so many problems just have been hidden and when they come up anything can happen to our country. I hope for the best anyway!

I agree that Russia hasn't changed the king. Medvedev is perceived as Putin's clone or just a pawn in Putin's hands.
If I have a choice to vote for him or change the government, I will do as majority did. Vote for Medvedev. I think it is the best decision in current situation.
But I can't agree with you that economic growth is only illusion. To turn Russia into prosper country government need a lot of efforts and it will take long time to do this, more than 10 years.
