So is there a natural process of evolution or will Russia always remain a 'riddle wrapped in an enigma'? There's a distinction to be made between nations and citizens. I've met several very smart Russian women including you this year. That has to be a cause for optimism. And still it is different absolutely some theories even don't work in Russia. Business and entrepreneurship legally appeared after 1991. Business people started to use different PR and marketing tools. 17 years passed. They tried everything, and stopped on PR. In 2006 one reliable business magazine published an article about big retail discounter (electric goods) revealing all negative issues of their low prices and quality. 6 months russian business world were discussing whether author was paid or not. If yes who paid him? So black PR is in current use, but, of course, nobody wants to be privy to this. Russia was always different from West countries. And still it is different absolutely some theories even don’t work in Russia.
